Folded Hinges are made for full outside mounting where the lid to a trunk or chest is flush with the back. This is our Extra Large size full strap hinge (8" straps) in 16ga. steel
(1/16”).
Folded hinges are made so the barrel of the hinge lines up with the seam between the lid and the trunk or chest top edge. The backset is determined by the thickness of the lid. Hinges are made to order. A choice of standard backsets is listed and can be chosen at checkout. If you need a different size choose "other" and leave us a note as to the size you need.
Hinges are sold in sets of two and come with 1" forged head clinch nails for mounting.
5 finishes are also available and can be chosen at checkout.
Antiqued Brown Wash
Linseed Oil Black
Plum Brown
Un-Finished Forged
Forged Grey
Linseed oil Black is a traditional baked on finish.
The two brown finishes are done with a rusting solution and then waxed.
The forged grey is color of the steel when it cools after being in the forged
It is waxed after it cools
The forged unfinished hinges are buffed out to a shine and left un-waxed.
