Early American Style Large Rectangular Hand Forged Trunk Chest or Box Back Plate and Handle

This is our Large Rectangular Back Plate and forged handle for Trunks, Chests and Boxes.
Early American Style Hardware was often nailed into place and the handles were then secured with split pins or cotter pin style keepers. This back plate measures 3 1/2” in width and 1 3/4” in depth and is made of 16 ga. steel. The handle is forged from 1/4" stock and measures 3 1/4” on the inside.
4 forged head 1" iron clinch nails are provided for mounting the backplate as well as 2 split pins for the handle. Sold in sets of 2, these handles come in 6 different finishes.
